Girls Who Conduct is excited to announce a partnership with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for a two-day, in-person training program in Atlanta. Participants will have access to an ASO open rehearsal, ASO concert, panel discussions with musicians, Symphony Hall backstage tour, and conducting clinics.

We offer two tiers of participation:

  • Spectators: participation of all events (including a ticket to the ASO concert on 25, 8pm) and observing the conducting clinics: open to EVERYONE of all genders above the age of 16.
  • Conductors: participation of all events + conducting at the clinics: open to ๐˜„๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป, ๐˜„๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป-๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—ณ๐˜†๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ป-๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜€ of all ages and nationalities.

1 pm: Welcome Meeting – The role of an assistant conductor and how to take notes

2-4 pm: ASO Open Rehearsal

4:30-5:30 pm: Q&A with guest conductor Lina Gonzalez-Granados

5:45-7:30 pm: Conducting Masterclass with piano, led by guest conductor Lina Gonzalez-Granados
Repertoire: Beethoven Symphonies

7:45-8:15 pm: Symphony Hall Backstage Tour

8:30-9:30 pm: Rehearsal Note & Conducting Resume Discussion

Apr. 25 (Thu)

11:00-12:15 pm:  โ€œFinding Rhythmic Vibrancy in Micro Phrasing & Embellishmentsโ€ in Mozart Piano Concerto with pianist Ling-Ju Lai

12:30-1:20 pm: Panel Discussion with ASO musicians

1:30-3:30 pm: Conducting clinic session: Strum (with a string quartet of ASO players)

4-5 pm: ASO Library tour

5-7 pm: One-on-one video review & resume feedback

Event Venue: Atlanta Symphony Hall

Atlanta Symphony Hall is located within the Woodruff Arts Center on the corner of 15th and Peachtree Streets, in the heart of Midtown.

Accessible parking is available on all levels of the Woodruff Arts Center Parking Garage.
