Directed by our Artistic Director Chaowen Ting, Girls Who Conduct is excited to announce another partnership with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for a two-day, in-person training program in Atlanta. Participants will have access to an ASO open rehearsal, ASO concert, panel discussions with musicians,
career discussion on the role of an assistant conductor, ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ-๐ผ๐ป-๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ on your resume and cover letter, and ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฐ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ with guest conductor Mazena Diakun and ASO musicians.
To participate:
- Conductors: participation of all events + conducting at the clinics: open to ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป, ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป-๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ณ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ป๐ผ๐ป-๐ฏ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ of all ages and nationalities.
- Auditors: opening to everyone.

12-12:30 pm: participants arrive & Welcome Meeting
12:45 -1:45 pm:ย Panel Discussion with ASO musicians (light lunch provided)
2-3:15 pm: Career Discussionย – Assistant Conductor: the audition process, the education program, and beyond
3:30-6 pm: conducting session with piano
6 pm: Dinner on your own
8:00 pm: ASO Concert
May 16 (Fri)
10:30 am: Q&A with guest conductor Marzena Diakun (light breakfast provided)
12:00-2:00 pm: Conducting Masterclass with string quartet, led by guest conductor Marzena Diakun
Repertoire: Tchaikovsky, String Serenade, mvts. 1-3
2:30-4 pm: feedback on your resume and cover letter
